Dear Beckett,

Military Branch,

Admiralty,s.W.1.

19th December, 1928.

In confirmation of my telephone enquiry

today, 1 should be glad if you could let us have

information on the following point.

On 14th October 1927 the Hong Kong

Government produced a new ordinance as regards

piracy. The effect of this new ordinance will be

that most of the old regulations will have been

cancelled. Some of them however will still

remain under the new ordinance.

The only hint which we have as to which

regulations are being retained is contained in the

Governor's letter of 26th November, Colonial Office

Paper 30016/27.

Could you please have a search made and

by the Governor let us know what regulations have been issued up to

the present date in consequence of the Hong Kong Ordinance No.15 of 14th October 1927.

H.Beckett Esq

Colonial office.

Yours sincerely,

By Marrain
